After School Club
AGES: 9-12
Join the circle: a safe, creative environment where everyone is invited to show up exactly as they are and be themselves. Together we will learn the ART OF MINDFULNESS. We will cultivate a place where we can pause, relax and open up to our true self, connecting mind, body and heart and relaxing into our wholeness of being.
Children will explore with different mindful meditation practices each week, alternating between heart-opening and attention training. We will incorporate a healing yoga flow and a well-deserved savasana.
In addition to connecting with ourselves, we are building friendships and self esteem, promoting self confidence and constructing our individual tool belts of coping skills to “surf the waves of life”.
In this circle, we build inner and outer strength, increase flexibility (in both ways that it can mean!) and improve balance (again, internally and externally!), in this non-competitive but rather collaborative environment .
When we’re not meditating or flowing with our breath, we may be dancing, journaling, creating and certainly connecting in insightful conversation.
Classes are tailored toward designated age group.
Space is limited; we are purposefully remaining an into age group of 6 students at most.
Some of the mindfulness practices we may explore include, but are not limited to:
Body Scan · Breath · Eating · Walking · Sound · Loving-Kindness · Gratitude · Compassion
